The Low Sulphur Surcharge of Taiwan with effect from 01 January, 2019

Dear Valued Customers,

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) of Taiwan requires all foreign vessels and flag ships sailing in international routes shall utilize low sulphur fuel oil
(sulphur-bearing not more than 0.5% by weight) when entering into international commercial port area under the jurisdiction of the Republic of China, Taiwan shall take effect from 1st January 2019.
Due to the compliance in new regulation, it's expected the fuel cost will increase tremendously, the low sulphur surcharge shall be certainly introduced for the additional cost recovery.

- Charge name: Low Sulphur Surcharge
- Effective date: 01 January, 2019 (on board date)
- Applicable coverage: shipments exported from/ imported to Taiwan
- Applicable trade: Asia, Australia, South/ Central America
- Pay term: collect at Taiwan
- Rate:
1. USD 18/teu (Taiwan I/B & O/B)
2. USD 36/teu (Taiwan to PRD China (T/S at HKHKG & doorterm in destination))
